The Indigo Love of Reading Foundation Donates its Millionth Book

TORONTO, May 14, 2012 /CNW/ - The Indigo Love of Reading Foundation marked the announcement of its 2012 Literacy Grants with a significant milestone. The Foundation has now funded 1,000,000 books for high-need school libraries across the country. The 20 elementary schools who are the recipients of this year's $1.5 million allocation will receive individual grants of up to $195,000 over the next three years, with the common purpose of stocking the schools' libraries with new books so that the young students can reap the life-long benefits of reading.

The Indigo Love of Reading Foundation was established to ensure all elementary school children have easy access through their very own school library to the most essential learning tool, books. Since its inception in 2004, the Foundation has donated $13 million to schools in need across the country, providing access to more than 1,000,000 books for 36,000 children.
