Bookmans, MUSD make store credit go long way to help kids

At the cashier's desk at the Bookmans Entertainment Exchange at 3733 W. Ina Road, customers can give their two cents to the Marana Unified School District.

We're talking store credit, not advice.

The district set up a donation box at the used bookstore in 2011, and since then $2,400 in donated trade-in credit has gone to buy material for classrooms and libraries in the district.

Coyote Trail Elementary School librarian Lisa Martin came up with the concept. She convinced Bookmans to let the district set up the donation box, and she collects the receipts and divides them up among MUSD schools.
